Casual Housekeeper

Job Introduction

Location: Harborne, Birmingham
Hours: Monday - Friday, between 3:15pm and 6:30pm, as and when required
Contract: Casual 
Pay: £12.71 per hour
Start Date: ASAP

Role Overview & Responsibilities

We are looking for a reliable and hardworking Casual Housekeeper to help maintain a clean, safe and welcoming environment at Focus Birmingham.

Working as part of our In-House Services team, you will support the day-to-day cleaning and upkeep of our facilities, helping ensure high standards of hygiene and safety for the people we support, colleagues and visitors.

Your responsibilities will include:

• Carrying out routine and deep cleaning duties across the organisation

• Following cleaning schedules and maintaining high standards of cleanliness

• Ensuring cleaning equipment and materials are used and stored safely

• Following COSHH, infection control, PPE and health and safety procedures

• Replenishing cleaning supplies and maintaining tidy storage areas

• Supporting kitchen and catering cleaning duties when required

• Completing relevant cleaning records and reporting maintenance or safety concerns

• Respecting the privacy, dignity and individual needs of the people we support

As this is a casual role, shifts will be offered according to operational needs, including providing cover for staff absence. Flexibility to work at short notice would be beneficial.

Person Specification

Essential

• Reliable, organised and able to work independently

• Good attention to detail and commitment to maintaining high cleaning standards

• Basic understanding of health and safety and hygiene procedures

• Good communication and teamwork skills

• Respectful and person-centred approach

• Flexibility to work shifts as and when required

Desirable

• Previous cleaning or housekeeping experience

• Experience working within health, social care or similar environments

• Knowledge of COSHH and infection prevention procedures

• Experience using commercial cleaning equipment
